Emma Ortiz, Winded

Emma Ortiz's oil paintings are inspired by the natural world, and tell the story of a newfound spring. Each canvas serves as a personal diary entry capturing the artist's moods and reflections on the world around her. Ortiz draws on a wide range of sources, from textiles and magazines to family lineage and most of all, flowers. She creates an ever-expanding repository of imagery that she uses to paint motifs from nature and imagination.
