Francisco Donoso is captivated by the optical, emotive, and tactile characteristics of color and its capacity to manifest the boundless, transcendental, and phenomenological. Employing stratified and partially translucent mylar, alongside luminescent plexiglass, their artworks of mixed media encapsulate radiance, showcasing an abstracted motif reminiscent of a chain-link fence. Within this realm of abstraction, assumptions surrounding migration, borders, and undocumented status are overturned, erasing divisions and stretching past physical confines to unearth concealed aspects of migration. The outcome materializes as a psychedelic domain, a transformation of the fence into a gateway leading to an unshackled inner world, one intentionally resistant to colonization.
