DAYDREAMER (SOON COME), 2023

In continuing with jessy Nite’s most recent explorations with textile, MULTITUDES will also include a group of her tapestry pieces made from hand knotted paracord. This series investigates themes of survival, playfully juxtaposing the intended use of the material to the implied meanings of the phrases. Text such as ONLY YOU and ON AND ON touch upon survival in social settings, nature, and relationships. Nite has also included her first fully functional artwork made from paracord: a meticulously crafted hammock with the words SOON COME, that invites audiences to sit or lay for a moment of reprieve and contemplation within this multifaceted exhibition.

Jessy Nite is a multidisciplinary artist based in Miami, FL. Specializing in interactive, experiential and site-specific installation, her bold narratives come alive through an array of pastel-colored typography, geometry and illustration.  Nite fabricates experiences using familiar and disarming imagery, giving audiences the freedom to interact and interpret her visual for themselves.  This free-wheeling creative exchange is the product of context, structure and her underlying, controlled message.
